How To Choose The Best Rug Size For Your Room
The right area rug can bring your room together and make your space feel welcome and inviting. But which size should you choose? We're here to help!

Common rug sizes are 3x5, 5x8, 8x10, and 9x13. Each size can vary by a few inches. Custom rug sizes are also available to order.

Bedroom

Your bedroom rug should be large enough so that you can feel the rug under your feet when you step out of bed.

In a larger room, a rug that goes under the entire bed and both nightstands is ideal. In a smaller room, try going just up to the front of the nightstands. A third choice would be to put a runner on either side of the bed.
Living Room

A great choice for the living room is to have at least the front legs of all furniture on the rug. Avoid a rug that sits only under a coffee table, as it can make your room feel smaller.

If the seating area is not against any walls and is arranged in the middle of the room, select a rug that is large enough for all of the furniture to fully fit on the rug
Dining Room

In dining spaces, choose a rug that has plenty of space to fit your table, chairs, and even space to pull out the chairs from under the table. A good rule of thumb is 24" larger than each side of the table.

A round rug is a beautiful companion to a round dining table, whereas a rectangular rug is the best fit for a rectangular table.
